Fully doubled and sterile light blue flowers make this Agapanthus doubly charming. Its summer blooms persist, since it doesnĘt set seed. Planted in a nice, well-drained soil and full sun, itĘs as tough as any Agapanthus. It makes a dramatic summer container specimen that, in colder zones, can be easily overwintered indoors.
Agapanthus 'White Heaven' PP15811 $15.95
Lily-of-the-Nile
One of the finest white variations on the usually-blue-flowering agapanthus, sending skyward its big pure-as-heaven white flower globes in the dog days of midsummer, just when the garden needs a jolt of freshness. Another gift from Holland, White Heaven was discovered in a field of blue agapanthus grown for the cut flower market. Like all agapanthus, this one thrives in full hot summer sun and any well-drained soil. Great in containers where not winter-hardy, it can be brought indoors to a cool, bright place to rest until the following summer.
Agapanthus Blue Heaven PP14989 $12.95
Lily-of-the-Nile
Heavenly blue star-like flowers in unusually large rounded clusters at the ends of sturdy stems, blooming off and on from July to September, make this agapanthus one of the best for summer containers in cold winter areas. Also makes a decent cut flower, for that dramatic touch of blue in an arrangement. Where they are winter hardy, agapanthus are popular in masses and as summer hedges. Thrives in hot summer sun. In zones 7 and colder, the plants can be overwintered in a cool, dry, bright location.
