A precious otherworldly find from the island of Ulleong-do in the Japanese Sea. This handsome species has medium green, pinnate foliage and long racemes of greenish-white umbels that climax in fireworks of glistening purplish black fruit. This makes an enormous presence in the garden, creating a seasonal display of tree-like proportions, only to retreat to ground level at yearÆs end. Trouble-free, for humus-rich soil in full sun or partial shade. Try to shelter from strong winds to protect the large leaves. Simply amazing.
