Undoubtedly our most striking hybrid. Unusually clean, raspberry-mauve flowers are fully double, creating nodding heads of mum-like fullness atop 2-foot stems. Lift a bloom to see deep into the center. See where it glows with a touch of lime radiating into a smoky plum grape. A vigorous hybrid, effective in small groups as well as large sweeps in both part and full shade.
Exquisitely detailed, each flower displays a spectacular combination of plum reds. The face of each flower appears pink at first blush, but upon closer inspection one sees creamy white veins painted over a background of lightly brushed rose, beautifully contrasting with edges finely picoteed in the darker rose found on the reverse. Long flowering stems raise the flowers prominently above the foliage, enhancing the show.
Helleborus 'Phoebe' $19.95
Lenten Rose
Bright pink flowers are fully double, creating frilly heads reminiscent of peonies, but for the wintertime garden. Each petal is softly dusted with freckles twisting and tucking itself into the full, almost spherical flower head. We labored over developing this delectable pink double with a substantial plant habit and strong resistance to diseases.
We integrated the wide range of colors from our experimental breeding program into exquisite double flowered forms. These rare blooms display a full doubling of petals on robust, ready to bloom plants. All are one-of-a-kind.
Almost perfectly round, these cupped blossoms resemble the blushed cheeks of a prized china doll. Delicate in appearance but tough as nails in the garden, it lasted rigorous selections to cull the weak traits out of either parent. The result is a delicate beauty that will reward you with years of garden performance.
Helleborus 'Ivory Prince' $14.95
Lenten Rose
From breeder David Tristram comes this beautiful hellebore, selected for its vigor and superior compact upright habit. Beginning in late winter, the rich burgundy pink buds open to reveal outward facing, flattened ivory blossoms. The petals are quickly streaked with rose, then an overlay of chartreuse as they age. At each stage they stand out against the handsome blue-green foliage, making for an effective display in groupings or as a specimen.
