Not your typical banana! A superb, hardy shrub banana species. Large, Lotus-like yellow flowers appear beneath leathery, tropical gray-green leaves throughout the summer. We have seen the plant grow up to almost 6' tall from the crown in one season. We list it as hardy zones 7-10, bu we have seen it overwinter in our zone 6 gardens, however a layer of mulch is suggested in the winter to ensure survival. Makes an impressive container plant.
