In late summer reddish purple catkin-like little spikes dance atop tall stems, which are clothed in compound leaves variegated with white margins from spring to fall. ĉDali MarbleĈ was discovered in Connecticut as a mutant among seedlings that were sprouted from seed of the species that had been collected in Yunnan, southwest China, by Sunny Border Nurseries. Like others in this genus it prefers moist but well-drained soils in full sun, and makes an interesting cut flower.
